DJBET电竞菠菜人 www.nhsanshi.com KEGS Young Engineers Club is part of the national Young Engineers Club network and meets in the Electronics Room in the Technology block three times a week where students take part in a range of engineering activities. Junior YE Club (for years 8-9) meets at 12:50 on a Tuesday lunch time and Senior YE Club (year 10-13) is held on a Wednesday lunch time. Year 12 Engineering scheme participants also meet from 3:45 to 5:45 on a Wednesday. Students at the club may work on individual and team projects, attend a range of trips and lectures and enter Engineering competitions, many of which lead also lead to British Science Association CREST awards.

We have had considerable success over the years in Engineering competitions and were announced best new Young Engineers Club at the 2006 Club Awards. Our members have participated in many other competitions. The First Lego League is particularly popular, with team ‘Senior Saviours’ winning the regional final in 2012 and Illuminatus in 2016. Our team ‘The Flying Circus’ were national winners of the IMechE Schools’ Aerospace Challenge in 2007, with ‘Team SWOT’ and ‘Osprey’ runners-up in 2012 and 2013, with at least one KEGS YE team reaching the national final most years. KEGS Young Engineers has had two teams reach the CyberCenturion National Finals each year, winning in 2015. Students also have the chance to participate in VEX Robotics, Land Rover 4x4 Challenge, PA Pi competition, Rampaging Chariots and Student Robotics. Our mentoring scheme allows members of senior YE Club to gain leadership experience by devising and leading challenges and projects for the younger members.

We are keen participants in the Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society’s Engineering ‘Our Future’ lecture programme and Schools’ Technology Competition, and encourage participation in Headstart and Smallpeice Trust residential engineering courses. Our most YE adventurous trip is the year 10 and 11 Space Camp trip to the Advanced Space Academy at the United States Space and Rocket Centre.
